Cheaper than at the vets!
We have a cockerpoo and she’s a fussy fluffy, so getting her to eat these is a challenge. Sometimes we pretend that we’ve dropped one by accident in the kitchen and then she gobbles it down! We are a pair of geniuses in our house, I think you’ll agree. Nice.

They agree with the dog
5 stars because they do as they should for the dog and he can’t write reviews. He might hate them for all I know, but its what comes out of his other end which matters.

Would highly recommend
My dog needed more fibre in his diet as I had changed his food, this was the perfect solution. I gave him one scoop, once a day mixed in with his food and it worked perfectly. He would even eat the small pellets from my hand. Would highly recommend and well worth the money. One pot lasts quite a while.

No idea what flavour they have
No idea what flavour they have, as my dog won’t tell me. That was an answer to; ‘Rate Features’ first question, for a dog supplement. The product looks as advertised and our dog didn’t mind it being in her food bowl, it went down a treat. So, maybe the answer to feature one, flavour, is ‘dogilicious.’ I also want to say that the seller got these to me the next day, which is a rating of excellent for them. Time will tell if our dog continues to like this product. I hope so, as it will do her gut biome wonders. The best thing for us will be less smells from the opposite end to her head. UPDATE- Our second order for this product. Our dog loves these spread over her food. Her coat has more of a sheen to it and she has more energy, she is 9. Let’s just say with this spread onto her meal, it disappears rather quickly.

Quality Product
I trust Protexin as a brand, I’ve used their products for years since having them recommended by a trusted vet. If I’m totally honest the pellets work very well, my dogs like the flavour but aren’t keen on the actual shape of the pellets so it takes a bit of creativity to get them down!

Magic in a tub for great value
I have 2 senior cats (13yrs old in 2 months), and inevitably as they age they’re developing health issues.Ziggy has Feline IBD (think Crohns Disease or Ulcerative Colitis in humans) which I’ve managed to keep under control with a high protein diet, I feed him tinned food from Thrive and no dry food whatsoever, but whenever he brings up a hairball this aggravates his system and he’ll be vomiting for several days after, he’s a pretty furry cat but he only needs a small amount of fur in his sytem to set him off so it’s far more frequently than his brother brings up hairballs.Tiggy has issues with his anal glands, this started about 6 months ago, he’d be scooting his bottom on the floor and licking a lot more than usual, he didn’t seem distressed and it would only be a day at a time, I didn’t know what it was at first but thought I’d just keep an eye on it. It kept happening about once a month and I noticed his stool was harder than usual and smaller, and a little smellier. The last time was different, he got very distressed and was really struggling with going to the toilet, I think it was causing some pain and his scooting became a bit frantic, so I did a bit of reading and figured it out as being his anal glands, so I took him off to the vet who confirmed and expressed the glands for him. Tiggy suffers anxiety pretty badly after we all lived in a violent household for some years (free now), and the trip to the vet really set off his anxiety, it was heartbreaking for me and so decided to have a look into any natural ways of managing these gland issues to avoid the distress of repeated vet visits.I came across this and it looked promising coupled with reviews of success with anal gland issues. Plus, I actually have Crohns Disease myself and the human equivalent of this product is a drink called Fybogel, which is a safe fibre for intestinal issues so I immediately felt safe in trying this product for both of my boys issues. The way it works is that when it comes into contact with the liquid in the gut it becomes like a slimy gel which lubricates the intestines and helps waste to slide through without issue and without irritation, very helpful to avoid inflammation with IBD and puts less strain on the anal glands so they can settle down and start working properly too. They’ve been having it now for about a month. Tiggy hasn’t had any issues with his glands whatsoever, his stool now looks normal and there’s more in the box (I never thought I’d be happy to have more poop to scoop), no scooting and no extra licking. He’s using the litter box without distress and without straining. I’d say I started noticing a real improvement after about 2 weeks of this daily. For Ziggy, I gave him this in the hopes that he would start passing his hair in his stool rather than vomiting it up. So far so good, after a month there’s only been one hairball up and it was tiny, there wasn’t any repeated vomiting after from irritation either which is fantastic. It also seems to have helped his acid reflux which is a part of having IBD, as I’ve not noticed any on the floor since he started this.I use half a scoop each day (for those who’ve said the scoop wasn’t in the tub, I thought the same when I opened mine, but I emptied the tub into another container and the scoop has actually settled to the bottom of the tub), I don’t add any water to it, just mix it in their food (my boys only have wet food) and they eat it all up, they took to it straight away so I’m guessing that it tastes good as Tiggy is more than a little fussy with food!So far, I’ve been giving this to both boys every day for a month and we’ve used about a quarter of the tub, so it should last about 4 months, which considering the benefits and the price of the tub, it’s more than good value, and to see to happier furbabies makes it priceless

Works a treat
Recommend by a friend because our dog, despite trying to keep his diet balanced and consistent, still suffered from the odd runny poo after moments of stress / excitement regularly.Difference was day and night, once we started giving this to him his stools were exactly as they should be. Would recommend if you think maybe your current dog’s diet doesn’t have enough fibre but don’t want to go through the trouble of trialling different foods if the current food ticks all the other boxes.

This is a great product & advertised as cheaper than most on Amazon but trying to charge a £25 delivery fee is just ridiculous. This product is widely available through pet stores online at much better value. Delivery charges less than £4.

I am pleased to read so many people have discovered this product
I am pleased to read so many people have discovered this product. I have had exactly the same troubles with my two cocker spaniels adrenal glands since they were 5/6 yo (thy are now 11yo)…They suffered from anal glands troubles every 6 weeks they would be rubbing their bums in discomfort telling me that their glands needing emptying. For at least 7 whole years my local vet in North London UK (which I have now left) could only offer to empty the glands at a cost X 2 dogs, plus the discomfort of the procedure. Sometimes they would even block and they would need an injection to soften it and then I would have to go back for the procedure. This was so scary and frustrating, knowing that every month my dogs risked their glands would block and cause a tumour. One of my spaniels did indeed get one of the glands blocked and it hardened so that it then developed into a tumour which eventually spread into her belly. She passed away last year in May 2017 after about two years since her anal gland was identified as hardened. My old vets never mentioned once that you could address these problems with diet and supplements and instead they were suggesting expensive and painful surgery to remove the glands which could carry additional risks of the dog suffering with chronic diarrhoea after the removal of the glands. I did not want to subject her to surgery with this additional risk and loss of quality of life, not to talk about the cost involved. Enough to freak any pet parent out. It was only when desperate for second opinions on my journey in trying to help her that another new vet in the area suggested Pro-fibre. This has resolved any problems with my existing dog, she has been on it for more than a year and never had to empty her glands again! I would also add that since watching the documentary series ‘The Truth about pet cancer’ I have stopped buying ANY commercial food, dry or wet, prescription diet or not, as I learned how awful the manufacturing is and how dangerous these products are for your pet’s health. Please go and watch, or consider buying the series if you want to know more… I really recommend it, it will change your perception of the whole pet food industry and conventional vets practices. You can empower yourself with research and the internet and really crack down on poor choices and malpractice for which we have been charged thousands because we care for our loved ones. I now home cook my other dog’s food, it’s fresh organic real food, I make batches and freeze or that keep for up to two days. Except for these pellets I do not buy any commercial food. I would also add that if you are careful and add some rolled oats into your home made wet dog’s food, like I do, you could probably use less of this product and/or make it last even longer. It has worked with my dog so far, she’s in good health, her stools are perfect and really enjoying her food and her life again. I hope it helps!

Why the massive price rise?
I have been buying this product for months, my last order being 6th March. As I prepared to put in my latest order I could not believe the steep price rise for this product. Latest price for ONE tub is £18 something. Apparently you could buy 2 for £44? Unbelievable! Last time I’m ordering from Amazon. I’ve just bought two tubs from Pets at Home for the same price as I have always paid. The 5 stars are for the quality of the product.

Seems to work
I used this for a few days. It’s actually quite a pleasant smell so my dog was happy to have it in his food. I think his stomach settled within a couple of days. He seems to have a sensitive stomach coupled with being a fussy eater. I was pleased with this. I haven’t used it all yet. I’d buy again and can recommend it.

So much cheaper than the vets
We had an issue with our dogs stools so went to the vets. They recommended a high fibre supplement which worked brilliantly but looked at the bill and was charged £26, so I thought I see if it was available else where ,found it really quickly through the search button it’s slightly different but only on a couple of amounts and it’s made no difference to his stools . He gets through a container a month so over a year this is a massive saving. 2 servings ,1 scoop in the morning and one in the evening as he weighs 22kg. Great savings and product
